Delete your sightscreen account
App: sightscreen. Developer: sightscreen.
You can delete your sightscreen account at any time, and you do not need our help to do it. Deletion is immediate and permanent: there is no waiting period, no deactivated state, and no way for us to undo it afterwards.
1. Delete it yourself, in the app
- Open sightscreen and sign in with the Google account you used, if you are not already signed in.
- Go to your account page: tap your avatar in the top right, or open sightscreen.live/account.
- Scroll to the section headed Delete account at the bottom.
- Press Delete my account.
- A confirmation box asks whether to permanently delete your account and everything tied to it. Confirm it.
You are signed out immediately and returned to the home page. By the time that happens, everything in the table below is already gone.
2. Ask us to delete it, by email
If you have uninstalled the app, lost access to your Google account, or would simply rather we did it, email support@sightscreen.live from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account.
Send it from the same address if you can, because that is how we confirm the account is yours. If you cannot, tell us your public handle and we will find another way to check. We will confirm by reply, and complete the deletion within 30 days of verifying it is your account, usually the same week.
Use this route too if you want the analytics events in the second table removed. The in-app button does not reach them; a message to us does.
What is deleted
All of it at once, the moment you confirm. One database instruction removes your account row, and everything below is attached to it and goes with it.
- DataWhat it isWhen
- Your account recordThe name and email address Google gave us when you signed in, the link to your Google profile picture, and your public handle.Immediately
- Your Google sign-in linkThe connection between your account and Google, including the access tokens that kept you signed in.Immediately
- Every signed-in sessionOn every device and browser you have used, not just the one you are deleting from.Immediately
- Every Beat Elo pickIncluding graded ones. Leaderboards are worked out from these rows each time a page loads, so your handle and your record disappear from them at once. Nothing is cached or copied elsewhere.Immediately
- Every team and player you followAlong with the personalised ordering they gave your Today feed.Immediately
- Every match-alert subscriptionOn every device, plus your weekly-digest choice. No further notification can be sent to you because the address to send it to is gone.Immediately
What is kept, and for how long
After deletion nothing in our database identifies you. Leaderboards are worked out from live rows rather than stored, so your handle and your record vanish from them as soon as your picks do. These are the things that outlive the account, and why.
- KeptWhyHow long
- Database restore historyOur database provider keeps a short rolling window so the whole database can be rewound after an incident. Your deleted rows sit inside that window until it passes. Nobody reads it in normal operation and it cannot be queried as data.6 hours
- Product analytics eventsWe record a handful of counted actions (signed up, made a pick, followed something, deleted the account) against an internal account number, in PostHog. They carry no name, no email and no handle, and they are not removed by the in-app deletion. Our analytics set no cookies and store nothing in your browser, so once your account is gone there is nothing left to connect those counts to a person. The only cookies the site sets are the ones sign-in itself needs.Kept until you ask. Email us and we delete them within 30 days.
- Crash diagnosticsWhen something breaks, the error and the page it happened on are reported to Sentry so it can be fixed. We never attach your account to these reports, so there is nothing in them tied to you.Held by Sentry under its own retention policy
- Server request logsOur host records ordinary web-server logs (IP address, browser) to keep the service up and to stop abuse. They are not joined to accounts.A short operational window, set by our host
- Cricket data and Elo's predictionsMatch results, scorecards, and the model's own calls and track record. This is public sport, not personal data: none of it was ever about you, and none of it changes when you leave.Kept indefinitely
Deleting the app is not deleting the account
Uninstalling sightscreen removes it from your phone and stops every notification, because notifications are sent to the app rather than to you. It does not delete your account: for that, use one of the two routes above.
More about what we collect in the first place is on our privacy page. Anything unclear, or a request we have not answered: support@sightscreen.live.
